Martin’s Belfast Directory For 1842-3; To Which Are Added The Address Of Professional Gentlemen, Merchants, Manufacturers, And The Principal Traders Of The Neighbouring Towns And Villages; The Noblemen, Magistrates, &c. Of The Counties Of Antrim And Down; And An Account Of The Institutions Of Belfast.
(Compiled by Matthew Martin. Published at 8, Castle-Place, Belfast, 1842.)
In compiling this Publication, every possible care has been taken to meet the wishes of Commercial Gentlemen; almost all the persons whose Addresses are herein inserted, have been waited on personally, and consulted as to the manner in which their Business should be entered.
The professional Gentlemen, Merchants, Manufacturers, Hotel Keepers, and the principal Traders, residing in the neighbouring Towns and Villages, are alphabetically arranged, and commence at page 259, preceding a list of Noblemen, Magistrates, &c. of the Counties of Antrim and Down.
As heretofore, the Inhabitants of Belfast and its vicinity are given in three arrangements, 1st in a Street Reference; 2nd in a Classification of Professions, Trades, and Designations; and 3rdly in an Alphabetical List. By referring to the Index of Contents, the Reader will see at once the page where each particular is to be found.
For the kind attention and encouragement the Publisher has met with from Gentlemen and the Commercial Community, he would beg leave to return his sincere thanks.
